Al Safa lands Touhami Ghezzoul

Al Safa of Safwa (Division 1) tabbed experienced 35-year-old Algerian international 209cm center Touhami Ghezzoul (college: North Dakota State of Science) for the new season. Ghezzoul played most recently at Al Karameh in the Syrian SBL league. He helped them to make it to the Syrian League final. Ghezzoul also played for Al Salam in Saudi Arabian SBL where in 14 games he averaged an impressive 18.2ppg, 14.9rpg (#4 in the league), and 1.9bpg last season.

He also represented Algeria at the Afrobasket Championship in Rades (Tunisia) seven years ago. His stats at that event were 7 games: 3.3ppg, 2.4rpg.

And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life on three different continents. Ghezzoul is familiar with Asian, African, and North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Oman (An Nasr), Algeria (GS Petroliers), and Saudi Arabia (Al Wehda).

Ghezzoul attended the North Dakota State of Science until 2007 and it will be his 16th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
